Section 106.1 of the IBC states that construction documents shall be prepared by a registered design professional. I have a business that is bucking this and I'm not clear on how to prove this requirement to him and his attorney. 106.1 further states "...where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction...". My ordinances do not state the the designed drawing requirement. Should ordinances specifically state this? Or does the State Code have a section that makes this an automatic requirement? THANK YOU

Has anyone delt with the provisions of Iowa code 499B regarding horizontal regimes? The section states that the structure must meet with the currently adopted codes of the locality - since we have the IBC would that mean new construction or would chapter 34 apply for existing buildings?
Thank you

Does anyone know any of the particular code involved in building a stage? (things like height, sprinkler requirements, steps, ramps, thickness)
