Would you make that one building comply with currently adopted code standards for reconstruction? Since [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div  class="paragraph editable-text" style=" text-align: left; "><P>What would you do as the Authority having jurisdiction "AHJ" if you had a 144 unit (divided into 6 separate buildings) multi-family planned unit development built in 1985 and a fire occurred in one of the buildings causing 3 units to be totally destroyed and 3 others needing only removal of drywall and insulation replacement. Would you make that one building comply with currently adopted code standards for reconstruction? Since this building had 24 units total, we decided that requiring the entire building to be brought up to current code standards would be extremely burdensom and difficult so we decided to allowed them to rebuild per the code requirements at the time of original construction since it was not a complete building loss.
